January 1 I created a great big to do list of projects I have been wanting to tackle. I figured putting them in print and sharing them with all of you would give me the motivation I need to get some stuff done!
Well, I shall be checking the first item off of my list.
Create a well organized and clean garage workshop
This 2 car garage of ours was a disaster area! Like really bad. No room for walking let alone cars.
I needed a place I could do my dirty work, but we still need a usable garage. We bike, ski, camp, and need a place to store all of that stuff. I also REALLY wanted a place to park at least one car in bad weather (LAST NIGHT).
So I spent 3 hours on a nice Saturday afternoon cleaning out the junk.
Then on Sunday I pent about 4 hours reorganizing. I bought 2 big peg boards and cleared a wall to put them on. Super easy, but the way.
Next, I figured out how to organize a space for me, my junk, our gear, and a car. This is what I came up with.
My work area is on the right, the middle is a combo of my stuff and kid stuff, and the left is room for painting and our car when needed.
I can walk, we can park, it is heaven:) I also corralled all of my spray paint, cans of paint, and small hardware junk on a shelf on "my side."
That peg board made it all possible.
I got so much of my everyday items out of boxes and out and organized where I can easily grab them.
Now, my table actually has space to work on things! I used some old spice racks, Dollar Tree Bins, and peg board hooks to create this effective, if not pretty, system.
My husband is SOOOOO happy that he can access all of his climbing equipment and bike accessories when he needs them, I am so happy he lets me park my car in there when it snows, and the kids are happy they can get their bikes and big wheels out all on their own!
Ahhh, this felt so good. Even though it isn't beautiful it works!
